Community Services

This program helps adults with disabilities to become more independent, and is provided at no cost to eligible individuals.

The focus of the program is to help individuals develop natural support systems, make friends, strengthen their independent living skills, and have positive interactions with members of the community.

The adult must have a developmental disability that began before the age of 22, need help with personal care, meet the NM financial requirements, and be a resident of New Mexico.  Eligibility is determined by the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) Regional Offices. For more information about eligibility call the State Eligibility Office at 1-800-283-5548 and ask about the Development Disabilities Medicaid Waiver.

Day Services

Our community services or “day services” include educational and recreational activities, most of which take place in the community.  We identify and organize one-on-one and small group activities based on personal goals and objectives.

Some examples of the activities we organize are:

  • Pre-vocational activities
  • Physical fitness activities
  • Cooking
  • Literacy / Reading and writing
  • Shopping
  • Money recognition skills
  • Cultural activities
  • Volunteer activities

Employment Services

We assist adults to explore vocational interests and to obtain meaningful supported employment opportunities.
