Home Care Programs

My caregiver is a very nurturing person; she always comes on time and starts performing her work.  I rely very much on her.  She takes me to get my medication and groceries and takes me for my lab appointments, etc.”

Homemaker/personal care programs help adults who are frail, elderly, or disabled continue to live in their own homes.

Our programs promote self-sufficiency among adults who can’t manage key activities of daily living without assistance because of physical or cognitive impairment.

These programs are offered in Valencia and Socorro Counties and in Albuquerque’s South Valley area, and beginning November 2013, in Cibola County.

Eligibility

La Vida Felicidad provides homemaker/personal care programs through a variety of funding sources which each have distinct eligibility criteria including income, so our service coordinators can work with interested families or individuals to determine eligibility.

Affordable Home Care Services are available for those who do not meet the eligibility requirements for our Home Care Programs.

Our Programs

All Home Care Programs offer services that are non-medical and may include:

  • Grocery shopping
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Meal preparation
  • House cleaning
  • Bathing and personal care
  • Respite
  • Household chores that may no longer be possible for older adults to do themselves.

We work hard to make sure we find a caregiver who will be a good match with persons receiving services.  We also know how important it is that caregivers are dependable and that we identify a substitute when needed.

I am most thankful to receive these services.  It has made quite a difference in the quality of my life.”

The weekly hours and schedule of services may vary from 3 hours per week to a full-time weekly schedule of 35 hours or more, depending on eligibility.
