DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and regularly modifies classroom learning environment to meet the developmental needs of young children for engaged learning activities.
- Creates and implements an integrated curriculum that address the learning needs for three and four-year-old students across all developmental domains (Social/Emotional, Communication, Motor, Cognition, and Self-help).
- Implements state required documents and processes for home visits, student-portfolio assessment documentation and data reporting, lesson plans, and family-teacher conference summary sheets.
- Conducts developmental screenings on all PreK children and provides parent education on the developmental milestones of young children.
- Plans and implements activities with parents to strengthen their role in their child’s education.
- Establishes communication with early childhood community-based programs, other early childhood district-based programs, and other non-profits.
- Ensures the daily care of every child by following licensing guidelines and adhering to agency policies
- Prepare classroom handouts, newsletters and reports to communicate effectively with children, parents, families, and staff.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in mandatory NM PreK professional development opportunities
Attend agency and program meetings as directed
Perform all other duties as assigned by Early Learning Center Manager

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
- Must have the New Mexico Early Childhood Teacher License: Birth through Third Grade or the New Mexico Early Childhood Teacher License: Age Three through Grade Three.
- Must be taking credit-bearing college course work toward a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and teaching license
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exhibits strong organizational skills in keeping student data and anecdotal records on students’ learning progress.
- Must be creative and flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills, including time management.
- Requires current knowledge of principles and practices of early childhood and PreK standards
- Must maintain CPR, First Aid and other trainings/certifications as required.
- Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, LVF policy, state and federal law.
- English/Spanish bi-lingual a plus.

- An automobile at his/her disposal; a valid, non-suspended NM driver’s license and a current automobile liability policy and continuous coverage

- Travel within the state and out-of-state may be required
